Bernard Kerik, former commissioner for the NYPD and nominee for DHS secretary will be making his first appearance on YGC Radio on Monday, June 22nd at 11:30pm EST.

Kerik headed up the NYC Police Department from 2000 to December 2001.  During his tenure, under the leadership of former mayor Rudy Giuliani, New York City saw a decrease in crime, where other areas of the country saw a rise. After he left his post as commissioner, he was appointed the interim Minister of the Interior for Iraq, in which he was responsible for helping rebuild the infrastructure after the invasion of 2003.

Considered one of the most decorated police commissioners in NYC, he has earned over 30 medals for acts of heroism. He has also received honors, such as a Letter of  Commendation from President Reagan, and was appointed Honorary Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth and Knight Commander of the  Military Constantinian Order of St. George by the Duke of Calabria, Italy.
